J&J Machine's state of the art facility is equipped with the cutting edge equipment, and skilled machinists, that allows us to work with a variety of materials and sizes. A client in the semiconductor industry required quality CNC milling of a large diameter plastic part.  Measuring 27" in diameter, and 1" in thickness, it was composed of fluropolymer, and required finished thicknesses from 1.000" to .118", with a #63 micro finish, all while holding tolerances of ±.001".

Proper fixturing on a part of this size and material is critical, managing vibration and harmonics is key to maintaining the precision required. We utilized a system of vacuum fixturing that allowed for the high precision that was required, while controlling the added stresses that the process could potentially produce.
